The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) requires every public and private event held in Dubai to hold a valid event permit. This includes conferences, exhibitions, concerts, corporate events and private functions.
As part of the permit process, organisers must select an approved e-ticket provider this is a mandatory step on the DTCM portal. Entryvent is on the approved list. Once selected, your registration data syncs with the permit and every attendee receives a DTCM-compliant QR code with their confirmation.
We can also apply for the permit on your behalf as an additional service useful if you are unfamiliar with the process or managing a complex event with speakers, entertainment or special activity permits.

Apply for the DTCM event permit
Submit your event details on the DTCM portal – including event name, dates, venue, expected attendance, and speaker or entertainment details where applicable. This can be done through your hotel, venue or directly.
Select Entryvent as your e-ticket provider during the application, this is a mandatory step on the DTCM portal.

Share your performance code with us
Once DTCM approves your permit, you will receive a performance code. Share this code with Entryvent – we do not receive any notification from DTCM directly, so this step is yours to initiate.

We activate the sync
Once we receive your performance code, we enter it into your specific event in the Entryvent system. This activates the API connection between your event permit and your registration data.
From this point, all registrations are automatically synced with your DTCM permit and every delegate receives a compliant QR code.

FAQs
1. Does every event in Dubai need a permit?
Any event in Dubai that is public-facing, advertised, ticketed or involves performers requires an approved permit before it can be promoted or have tickets sold. Private events such as internal company gatherings with no external attendees are generally exempt. If you are unsure, contact us before you begin planning.
2. How early do I need to apply for the permit?
We recommend contacting us at least six weeks before your event. The absolute minimum is four weeks before promotion or ticket sales begin. For events with international performers, allow 14 to 21 days on top of that. DTCM offices are closed Friday and Saturday and operate until 3pm on weekdays only, so plan accordingly.
3. Is the DTCM permit service included in my Entryvent subscription?
No. The DTCM permit application service is a separate bought service, quoted and applied per event. Your Entryvent subscription covers ticketing and platform access. Contact us with your event details and we will provide a quote for the permit service.
4. What documents do I need to provide?
Standard requirements include your company trade licence, passport and Emirates ID of the authorised signatory, and venue booking confirmation and No Objection Letter. If your event features performers, you will also need passport copies and profession details for each one. For exhibitions, DTCM requires a full list of all exhibiting companies participating in the event. We will guide you through exactly what is needed for your specific event type.
5. Do I need to do anything once the permit is approved?
When DTCM approves your permit, a performance code is issued. We do not receive this automatically. You must share the performance code with us once received. Once we have it, we activate the sync and everything from that point is handled automatically.
6. What happens after the sync is activated?
Once active, every attendee registration is automatically reported to DTCM in real time. Every ticket confirmation email includes the required compliance code. Walk-in registrations onsite receive their code immediately. All printed badges carry the embedded compliance code. No manual action is required from your team.
